Let's Be Fat and Happy

Can I get a shout out for Fat Tuesday.  In our house this evening we will be celebrating with some glorious New Orleans style foods.

This year I seem to be craving New Orleans Mardi Gras more then any other year in the past.  3 years ago my hubbie and I took our very first trip together.  It just happened to be to Mardi Gras.  We fell in love with the city, the food, the atmosphere.  It was glorious. As you shall see....

St Charles Street Car.  On one street car we happened to cross paths we an interesting individual

 a drunk blind man who on the way out of the street car proceeded to sing the words Love is the Key. He held the word key for the longest time.  That moment we will never forget. The words grace our bedroom wall.

Look at all that beauty to be found during the daylight.  There was also an amazing amount of delicous food. I will spare you with all of those pictures.  

One can not forget about the parades either...

 

 

 

They even had a parade just for the dogs.  Look at the adorable chihuahua duchess. To bad we didn't know we would have been bringing home Chuck.  Maybe we could have made arrangements to marry him into royality.

This was an experience I will never forget.  It was an absolutely amazing time and I can not wait until we go back.  For now I will settle on our little home cooked sober version.
