Five on Friday plus One

Can I get a heck yeah for Friday this week.   Holy banana fudgesicles, it seems like it has been a long one.  Come hell or high water, this girl is sleeping in tomorrow.

Let's see what was up in the sack this week.

1.  Buzzfeed.   Now how have I not known about this.  Seriously why do something productive with my time when I can take stupid quizzes.  Like just now I learned, after work today I will need a glass of scotch.
A glass...not a few just a glass. Since the next quiz I took informed me I would only have a light hangover tomorrow.

2. Guidance.  Since everyone (boys) needs some guidance every now and again (as you can tell from number 1).   This article from the Huffington Post.  Seriously everyone can you say spot on:  How to Lose the Woman you love...for good

3. Post office time.  This week I also got to mail out my local box swap to my awesome, super sweet partner in Florida, Miranda.  You can check out here blog here: Miranda Writes.  While doing that I also discovered....
Oh yeah those are Harry Potter Stamps.  Harry Potter nerd here. Now I am left with the decision of trying to decide if I can even put them on an envelope or if I suddenly want to become a stamp collector.

4. Contemplating...The Whitney English Planner.  I have been hearing so much about this.  Is it worth?  Please if you own it and I need to (fall in love with it), let me know.  Otherwise I have seen: The simplified Planner and the Erin Condren Planner.   Any insight on any of these would be much appreciated.

5.  Pottie Time.   The little brother has been working with those super cute nephews of mine on pottie training.  Our little super Cooper is doing fairly well.  Morgie Moo...not so much.   The daycare has progressed to putting "big boy" underwear on Cooper.  Well on Wednesday due to a lack of diapers, the Moo ended up in big boy undies too.

On that day Auntie Dawn just happened to pick up a couple of matchbox semis for my adorable nephews.  If I haven't mentioned, they are obsessed with the movie "Cars".  They really wanted semis like in the movie.  The little bro and I used that oppurtunity to work on a little bribery.  Go on the pottie get a peterbilt.  Now what boy could pass that up....to our surprise neither of them.  Morgie Moo has been the king of stubborn when it came to peeing on the pottie.  It took the promise of the Peterbilt for him to go on the pottie for the first time for dad.
So those two boys walked away with a peterbilt for going on the pottie...and then they peed on my living room floor.  Yep, you heard that right.  We peed on the pottie, got a toy, and then peed the rest on the living room floor. Super Cooper even managed to explain how it was Bullet (the dog) who actually peed where he was standing. Nice cover, Coop.  Pottie training boys is priceless.

6.  Heartwarming.  If you have been around here long enough, you may have caught onto the fact that I love, love, love happy stories in the news.  You know the ones that make your heart melt with happiness.  It just happens I found one this week.....take a look at this lucky adorable puppie who brings joy to others.

Monthly Faves

February, oh February how love is in the blasted frigid cold air.  This month just happened to fly by like no ones' business.  Part of this was due to me taking a break.  Let's take a look at some favorite moments or things from the month...

1.  Sunshine and Palm trees instead of the Wisconsin Winter

 2. Getting to eat churizo for breakfast any chance I got. Spicey goodness.

3.  Dinner with a friend who will soon be departing on a new adventure in the big city of New York.

 4.  Getting my carabox in the mail...and continuing to crush over the mugs with my blogs name on them!

 5.  And of course as always, last but not least my family and our moments together

And now it is time to bring on March which will hopefully bring us some warmer weather.  Right now I would be grateful for 30...this girl is frozen to the bones.

Time to pack a bag

When the weather in Wisconsin happens to be...
There was no better of a time to realize that I had a trip booked to go see my mommie and daddie in Arizona.   They are "snowbirds".   When it starts to get cold they head south to bask in the sunshine for Arizona.  This was also going to be my first time traveling alone.

Alrighty let's get to Arizona. This was easier said then done.  Turns out the night before my flight was due to leave the pilots were late getting into Milwaukee.  Before they could fly our plane, they needed a certain amount of rest.   Completely ok with that.  Totally sucked that I had to reschedule a whole bunch of flights which turned into an entire day of traveling.
Have coffee and a plane...just no pilots.  For a brief moment wanted to see if they might let me give it a shot.  Then realized it would not be in my best interest and browsed the shops at our local airport.  Look at what you can find there...
And for the record...you can not tip a cow.  They do not sleep standing up.  Plus cows are mean and when they get mad kind of scary, just sayin'.
Finally I was airborne.  Much to my dismay all that coffee and the long wait to get us into the air, (they had to deice the plane) I ended up using the plane bathroom.  First time ever.  It is tiny and scary.  Thankfully it does not smell like a port a pottie.
My arrival in Dallas was kind of rainy.  No sunshine yet.  Warmer at least.
Then I even got to go on a tram.  My last experience with a tram resulted in us almost losing Forest.  He kind of jumped the tram without waiting.  Thankfully he was smart enough to get off at the next stop.  Goodness I will never forget the image of him waving goodbye thru the window.  With so much time on my hands now waiting for the next plane, whats a girl to do but....
Cocktail and a burger

Waiting patiently for a plane

Kill additional time making stupid faces as you wait sending random ones to your husband so he can truly remember how beautiful you are and how much he already misses you (ha ha ha).  Then it was over the mountains and thru the woods...
To Los Angelos we go....
It seems so quiet and peaceful out this window.
Next up was jumping a little puddle jumper to finally get to my mommie and daddie.

Oh my goodness I was so excited to fly over/see the Pacific ocean for the very first time ever!!!  Now I have this amazing yearning to explore Cali.

Yay!!!  Yuma I have arrived.

Finally after a very long delayed day of travel I made it to my mommie and daddie.  And this was the first time they took a "selfie".

And the concludes the end of day 1 basically, except for when I caught the end of the superbowl and went to bed.  Stay tuned for the much more exciting look what I saw portion of the trip

Word It's Wednesday - Labor Day

Thought we might shake things up a bit for Word it's Wedneday and go into a territory never seen before.  Did you see the little extra in that title?  Labor Day.  When I say Labor Day I am talking about the day of the labor that creates a little bundle of joy.  Because everything up to the little gracing your world really is not something anyone wants to hear about.  Ok well maybe someone out there does, but not this girl.

Back on topic here.  Labor Day.  Not the holiday either.  It does relate to it.  Alright enough dodging around here.  Today's post is my little opinion on the book "Labor Day".
This is a story of single mother and son who end up bringing in an escaped prisoner over Labor day weekend.  Over this weekend, the mother rediscovers love and happiness.  the teenage boy discovers growing up.   The book is written thru the eyes of the teenage boy as he reflects back on the days of their imprisonment over the Labor Day Weekend.

Here is a snippet of the book: http://parade.condenast.com/252591/joycemaynard/read-an-excerpt-from-joyce-maynards-labor-day/

This book is different then most books I would generally lean towards.  I thought the book was well written.  The author was very descriptive in the details hence capturing you and sucking you into the story and emotions that were developing.  It was also a very quick read.  Aspects of the story were clearly written without being explicit in nature.  My opinion on this book is that it is definelty worth the read.  No more details for you.

Now to my dismay, the movie based on the book is no longer in the theater.  I shall wait patiently until it comes out on dvd.  For some reason I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be release on or around Labor day (poop).

While the world waits for that day....go grab the book already for a glorious spring or summer read.

Beauty Buzz - Eye Creams

After a very long hiatus from the beauty buzz Tuesday, I am back.  The last Beauty Buzz was the highlight of a local Wisconsin shop that crafted eye pallettes.   Today though we are going to continue on with a portion of my skincare regime.   You can check out the past posts here:  Face Cleaners, exfoliating scrubs, and toners.    My focus today will be eye creams.

At one point in my life I had this whole age gracefully theme going and was determined I wasn't going to use anything out of the norm.  Then the glorious look how awesome my life has been lines started to show up.  Heard of some ladies in their 20's using eye creams, so I figured hey why not.  And guess what? It made a difference. So now every night and morning my eye area gets some moisturizing love.

My morning go to:
It is glorious.  Has a bit of a tingle to it.  Plus it has a pinkish tint which helps with the undereye circles and brightening the area.  It is amazingly refreshing.

When evening comes it is all about my Mario

If you been hanging around the beauty buzz here you know my love for the Mario Badescu. I cannot sing enough praises.   This is the perfect eye cream for night.  Light but yet think enough.  Silky smooth plus it smells glorious.

There you have it.  My very much loved eye creams.  And if you haven't started using one, you must now.  The difference is actually amazing.  Stay Beautiful

Celebrate Good Times

Come on let's celebrate!  Talk about a weekend of celebrations or events.  Friday evening we had the glorious annual tax appointment.   I relate this to a woman's annual appointment with the OB/Gyn.   You know kind of painful and something that has to get done.  At least with the tax appointment there is the possibility of cash in your pocket when all is said and done.  After that was all over with it was time for the hubbie and I to indulge in some mexican food.   And of course, tequila.  Which was beneficial since it was the monthly trip to Walmart.  This is another painful experience for me.  Sorry folks. Not a Walmart lover.   Very surprised at the lack of crazies that were gracing the Walmart on Friday evening. Celebrating that all that shit is done.

Saturday.  Did some errands and got tires on the new beater car that is gracing the sack. And had to get all of "Sunday" stuff done on Saturday. Then Saturday night was Winterfest for the Forest.  And you know what that means bring on some pictures...
The flower shop in our town does an amazing job with the flowers.

The lovely couple.

Sunday...Some very special boys turned three years old.  The whole day was about celebrating them. If you saw my instagram, you had the chance to see the mess of the large present wrapping....difficult.

The adults liked the hat more then the kids

The boys were all about the mass amount of balloons.

After the opening we were off to explore the domes for the day.

First up was the tropical dome.

Some random little boy who was not having a good day that my son took a picture of.

After the tropical dome, we headed to the special exhibit dome.  Which during this time of year is the garden train exhibit.

These two boys could have watched these for hours.

Now this lizard, who we are assuming lived in the desert dome (which was closed), was amazingly fast.  And we also got to watch a turtle eat a worm.

Sorry these were just creepy.  Needed to share.

And now onto...how to take a picture with your teenager.
Have someone else take the picture while he is not looking.  And sneak up.

See he still is clueless here.

And he busted me.

And they had a Jelly Belly vending machine...score.

After the domes it was off to experience the pizza place called Organ Piper Pizza.
Sadly the picture did not turn out well of the actual organ.  One wall is an old school organ.  When it is played there are various items on the wall that move around or make noises.  Ducks, there is a doll that spins, a flag that lowers from the ceiling, strobe lights...tons of things.

 Got exactly what they wanted...
 A COW
 and a DONKEY

Then back at home we had to open up some more presents from Grandma and Grandpa

And of course have some cake

Now at some point the hubbie thought it would be a good idea to tie the balloon to the dog.  Since it didn't appear to phase Bullet all that much....

It was onto the Chiweenie. Since he is the biggest chicken in the world this completely freaked him out.   When one didn't even lift him an inch...we tried two.

Think Charlie figured out at this point or possible heard the conversation of how many balloons would it take to make him float...hence the evil eye to dad.

And there you have a whole entire weekend of celebrations, fun and family.  Thank goodness it is Monday, I definetly needed a break.
