Picture Practice - Bird

With the way my world was this weekend, I basically forgot about the picture practice topic.  Blogger fail.  Then I saw Kelli's post today...and it was birds.  At this point, I just did a super jump for joy for an excuse to share with everyone a fun little happening in the cul de sac, which believe it or not actually had to with a bird.  Yay.

The little brother who is working on a portion of his garage had little visitor come over.  Ok it actually got itself stuck in the garage.  He was able to capture the little guy and brought him over for all of us to see.
Twas' a little hummingbird.  Being able to see one of these up close was absolutely awesome.  And even up close you can not see their wings while they are flying.  We discovered that it is the time of year that all of these birds migrate to warmer weather.  So after a little show and tell, the little bro and nephews let this guy go to be on his way to some cocktails and cabanas.

  1. So cool, I always wondered what a hummingbird looked like when still!

  2. Visiting from Picture Practice! We had a humming bird fly into a building at camp last summer and it was the neatest thing to see it up close! I was totally in awe of how shiny its feathers were.
