Weekend Shenanigans

Hello Monday.  Really tried to come up with a creative title to give you a snapshot of the little weekend of ours ahead of time. Not so much today though.  Think the brain is still getting back in gear after this weekend.   Let's recap shall we...

Iron Ridge Firemans Picnic Friday

The hubbie and I joined the little bro in heading over to the firemens picnic on Friday night.  Since this is too good not to share (sorry hubbie), what does one wear to such an amazing event you ask?  Time for an outfit post, Here you go:

 Why yes, a "cocktail" shirt with some stylish plaid shorts and on fire bright orange shoes.  He is the only person I know that could (or would) pull this off.  Love you.

And this was my little outfit of choice.  Was so excited to wear the new top I got from American Eagle.

 

One of my fave things about the picnic is this wonderful green concoction they make.  The boys took the glasses only to leave this girl with pitcher.  Seriously not a good idea.

 

Those nice firemen even give you a straw to go with your pitcher.  I also had some awesome walking tacos.  Sad to day the pictures did those no justice.  If you are not sure what walking tacos are, they are fritos with taco meat, sour cream, salsa, and lettuce.  Just mix it up in your little frito bag and enjoy.  Clearly after the green goodness...no more pictures to share.  Got kind of busy.

 

 

Swagtime, Smores and Sleepovers

 

After a little recovery time the next morning, we grabbed those adorable nephews of mine and headed out on swagtime for a little water fun.

 

 

Of course a day on the boat is not complete with out a stop at the tiki bar...and we had to get our glasses.

Now what did the day look like to a pair of two year olds you ask.  Here are a few of their pictures.

After our little excursion on the water it was time for a sleepover by Auntie Dawn and Uncle Jamie.

Watching Uncle Jamie fly his airplane.  Sad news to report on this subject.  It was inadvertently flown into a tree on Saturday.  Maybe someday it will fall out.  Unless we can find a very smart monkey to climb the tree to get it out.  Sad day for the hubbie.

 

And of course you can't have a fire and not have smores.  Then it was off to bed for these little ones, so the next day we could have homemade waffles with blueberries.

 

Now on Sunday there was not much to report out of me.  One of those little adorable boys decided Auntie Dawn only needed two hours of sleep.  So I pretty much functioned in a zombie state for the whole day. 

Now the hubbie on the other hand was on such a mission I got exhausted watching. It was so tiring I had to go take a nap. We are redoing the living, painting etc.  He took things down, patched nail holes and then started painting for me.  Pictures on this project will be coming in the future. Stay tuned.

 

Well now that pretty much sums things up in our little world. Back to reality and a well deserved break.  Hope your weekend was filled with fun and family.
