Ok thats a wrap

On summer that is.  Well unofficially.  Because in all technicalities summer does not officially end until September 22nd.  For the teenagers though, their little summer fun is all done.  Hi Ho Hi Ho back to school your butts go.

Now though let's take a look at what this glorious weekend held.  First though we had a little work to do on Saturday morning.  Had to get my uncle moved from the assitive living place to his very own apartment again.  Sorry to say there were no pictures or videos of the undertaking.  Which really probably was good since the funniest part of the day was watching my cousin and myself try to get a couch in the place.

Then it was off for some boat time, of course.

This is like the largest, creepiest spider ever.  A wolf spider.  That bottle, which was being held by my little brother, was probably still about six inches away from the thing.

After our little boat trip it was off the little brother's house for some dinner.  And of course I completely spaced out taking some pictures.  He grilled up some salmon that he caught.  Since it was out first time we made it four different ways.   The basic recipe seemed to be everyones favorite.

Sunday wasn't looking so promising at the start of the day and the night before we decided to do a family trip to Walmart (my least favorite place).  The only thing that made it slightly better was that the hubbie and myself went to lunch with the little bro and boys at Applebees for lunch.

After all that it was time once again to head out on the boat.  Goodness we do love being on the water.

Overcast, so needless to say the water was a little chilly

Then it was time for the tiki bar.  Last day of the season, so there was no way we could not stop.  And this glorious little green concotion they made tasted exactly like the stuff at the firemens picnic.

After some time on the water it was back to the house for our yearly household food contest.   This year was chicken wings.

Cooper helping out making my hubbie's wing sauce.  The hubbie was kind enough to grill my wings for me while I made his sauce.

And here we have mine (Honey lime cilantro) and the hubbies (something with blue cheese, sorry)

Steppies was a basic barbeque. Forgot to take a picture of Forest's.  His was a honey orange breaded chicken wing.

And the winner for the second year in row, the steppie.

Then my little brother weighed in and said the hubbie's due to the sauce...so a tie?!?
Oh yes the winner ended up with a glorious chicken.

And while all that cooking was going on some people were up to some monkey business

That would be the little bro getting the hubbie's remote control airplane out of the tree.

My super helpers.

After our crazy contest dinner, it was time to load everyone up into the boat again to go up river to watch the fireworks.

Our very first night cruise.

Monday, we did one more excursion on the boat prior to pulling it out of the water. To cold to play in the water, so we just did a quick stop at the sandbar.  During which the boys came up with the idea of building a remote control gas powered boat. Heaven help us now. Then it was over to the lone pine bar for some dinner. Pull the boat and back home.

As I sit here typing this it really didn't seem as chaotic as it was. It was a very crazy fun weekend. And now we only have four more days until the next one.  Let's hope for some more summer like weather.

  1. We usually spend a weekend camping/ on the lake for Labor Day, but I was stuck at home this year because I had gotten my wisdom teeth out! Glad you had fun though :)

Honestly, that wings contest sounds so fun! I would've enjoyed it just for all the different kinds of wings!
