Curing the Hangry - Round 2

Because I kind want to be a show off...ok I just like sharing the various things that I get in the quirky subscription boxes I decide to have arrive at my doorstep, it is time for Curing the Hangry
with the Graze box Round 2.

And in Round number 2 we have:
1. Lightly Toasted Pistachios - Pistachios happen to be one of my fave nuts.  Love
2. Raspberry and Coconut muffin - This was interesting.  The coconut shavings were something that I have never had before. Like
3. Barbeque Sub - I Enjoyed the breadsticks the dipping sauce while good reminded me slightly of ketchup. Like
4. Cocoa Cookie Dippers with Cherry Compote - Cookies in glorious dipping sauce added makes it out of the world.  LOVE

Once again nothing I hated in this box, a great variety of flavors....the winner of this round though goes to the Cocoa Cooke Dippers with Sauce (of course)

Head over here to find out about my very first box:   Graze Box

disclaimer: All opinions were my own and I have not been compensated for this post. I just truly love their snacks and service

Ghosts of Weekend Past - Wet and a little Crazy

I believe that this July 4th weekend could have been summed up as the best, most perfect quintessential summer weekend.  It basically encompassed everything I love about summer.

Saturday Morning the steppie and I took the kayaks out on a section of the Rock river that we haven't paddled before.  Here are some of the highlights...

Just in case you got tired early on someone created a little rest stop.

Honestly I am amazed by the items that we see along the sides of the rivers we explore.  The steppie also counted about 8 tires on Saturday.

Then we ran across our first...oh hell how are we going to get around that monstrosity

Thankfully a few sharp little turns and it was easy as pie.

Probably the favorite discovery of the day was the tadpoles

I foresee a jar being added to her kayak pack list.

We also encountered a few portages along the way.  The first one being not so bad...

The second we had to pull the kayaks out of the water to get around.

The afternoon found us back on the water...as we took the boat out, of course, and finally the jet ski.

Ready set...let's look at a whole bunch of pictures of us just being lazy at the sandbar.

Dinner found us having basically an "all-american bbq" with hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon, corn, and apple pie you know.  Plus we had a little soda sampling experiment going on.  Sorry forgot the pictures...but I can say the bacon nor the peanut butter jelly soda were nothing to write home about. We finished the night with a few small fireworks.

Sunday forecast 85 and sunny aka Let's Boat again Bitches.  And our fun, crazy factor  was off the chart.  Little Bro tried out water skiing.  Thinking that maybe a little liquid encouragement had something to do with that.  We tried diligently to get the steppie to give it a go, but no luck.

And Sunday afternoon after a long lazy crazy fun time at the sand bar found us stopping at the rope swing.  Seriously it is some dangerous awesome fun.

Oh and I got this next picture at the perfect time.

Wish there was more side stories to tell, but it really was just some pure summer fun. Now as the week starts we are sitting here tallying the injuries and working thru the aches and pains that were covered up by mass amounts of fun we were having.  And this year we are definitely hitting that rope swing again.

Fab Fit Fun - Spring Edition

Wow is it just me or do I feel like my whole entire blog is just about the random subscription boxes that appear at the doorstep. Hopefully this barrage of subscription box posts will come to an end soon.  For now though....let's discuss Fab Fit Fun.

This subscription service provides a box once a quarter or each season. Check it out here: Fab Fit Fun.

First off, let me say that I love the variety of items that I get in the box.  I am not ending up with just make up, clothes or some form of exercise gear.

Let's take a look in the box.
<shown above>
1.  Temporary Tattoos - Can't really give an opinion on this since I have yet to play with them.
2.  Lightweight scarf - Love the colors and the pattern on this
3. Intense Body Blast workout DVD - Since I don't work out at home, maybe someday.

4. $125 Gift Card - This was for formal dress rental items. Honestly I don't have a use for this.
5. Hello Fresh Gift Card - While I love the idea of this, for me I deemed the service to be non-cost effective
6. $25 Gift Card for work out items - I looked at there website, but the majority of items leaned towards individuals who work out at home (which I do not)

7. Growables Seed Pod - I was very excited to receive this.  As of today though, plant still has not grown.
8. Salted Caramel Puffed Corn - Holy shit Batman, this stuff is/was delicious and I have discovered a new favorite food.

9. Rifle Paper Company Coasters - Adorableness.  Such a spring feel to them. I may make a few into a mini picture.

10. Collagen Booster and Serum By Palmetto - Aside from the pump shooting out the product like no one's business, I am loving this product.
11.  Makeup brushes - Brushes are made of a soft material that applies the product nicely.  I used one of them for eyeshadow
12. Orly Nailpolishes - While I have not tried the BB Crème, I have used the nail polish.  This combination would be nice for a French manicure.

There you have all the little goodies that came inside.  Now onto the verdict, will this subscription keep coming to my house....YES.

I love the variety of items that are in the box and the price is not overwhelming.

Go check it out here: Fab Fit Fun.

And I am happy to say that my summer box just arrived!!

Until tomorrow when we see what kind of shit show went down over the weekend...

Ipsy Insight

Once upon a time there was a girl who loved makeup and getting fun new things to try out in the make up department.  One day an ad or announcement appeared that was a huge hello check out we have Ipsy over here.  Ohs and aaahhs led to a "hey why not".    After a slight wait, the shipping date came and this little envelope of interest arrived at the doorstep.

Now time to get to what was inside.
1. A small makeup bag - ok. I don't really have a use for another makeup bag
2. IT CC Cream - Used this while I was in Mexico and did not get burned plus provided nice coverage
3. Oscar Brandt Mousse - I do nothing really with my hair, so this will be "rehomed".
4. The Balm Eyeshadow in Fit - Like the color even though I do have similar colors.

5. GlamGlow Thirsty Cleanser - Waiting until Winter to give this the true test
6. Klorane Eye Patches - Soothing yes.  I chill them in the refrig and put them on in the afternoon when my eyes were feeling tired from the screen time at work.

And moving on with my thoughts.  This subscription is $10 per month.  You do not know what you are getting nor do you have the option to select what you would like.   While it was fun, I opted to cancel after this one month.  The only reason being is that I have so much make up and skincare items now that I would really like to clean house on some of that before exploring other options.   If you are looking to try new things and love makeup, skincare or hair items, I would recommend this subscription service.

June Favorites

As I sat here and typed the extremely boring mundane title of this post, a moment of sorrow washed over me...June Favorites.  JUNE.  But how and why can one summer month came to an end already.  Absolutely not fair.

Moment:
MEXICO!!

Kayaking with the littles

Music My jam - Nothing is really sticking out in my head this month, probably due to my working out aka not working out, vacationing issues

Beauty Product - Sunscreen.  It is summer folks protect that skin.

Clothes - Again, summer...I live in a swimsuit every chance I get.

Reading - Started slacking here again, need to pick up my book again.

Watching - Falling Skies...thank you Amazon Prime

Food/Drink - Green juice and plantains If anyone has the receipe for Mexican Green Juice, please send my way.  I miss it sooo much.

Purchase - My green turtle for the sandbar, yeah I only used it one weekend but it is fricken awesome

and my vacation to Mexico does that count I spent money on it so I am going with a yes!!

Looking Forward too in next month - Camping and a trip to the renassiance fair and of course sandbar boating time every chance I get.

Quick sweet and to the point for the month...now to get the heck out of here.  May this next months weekend go by slower than the flow of molasses in the winter.
