Weiner Wisdowm - So Fancy

Hello, it is I, Chuck the great Chiweenie. As you recall, or if you don't click right here, my little epiphany about my mommie thinking that I would be a glorious little puppie model, I thought it was due time to update everyone with my go to outfits for winter.  It is very frigid in Wisconsin and it is important to ensure one is warm.  Plus one must not forget that last Wednesday, January 14th was:

National Dress Up Your Pet Day

It's National Dress Up Your Pet Day! Does your pet have an impeccable sense of style? Today is the perfect opportunity to break out the bejeweled collars, sassy sweaters, and fashion accessories.
A Weimaraner named Man Ray is arguably the most famous dressed-up pet in American history. In the 1970s he collaborated with his owner, photographer William Wegman, to produce a collection of internationally acclaimed portraits.

Now speaking of staying warm and much to my dismay, I had to recruit my puppy brother Little Man to help with said fashion post.  It turns out that my master plan of staying warm by increasing my food content has contributed to a little more fluff then I had initially anticipated.  No worries my mommie has said placed me on a strict caloric intake to ensure that I will once again become a lean, mean, little chiweenie.

Let's begin shall we...with it being winter and the possibility of being snowed in stylish pajamas are a necessity
I prefer to wear ones with a collar for that extra coverage.  Notice that when it comes to pajamas it is important to have back legs also for extra coverage.

Here we have little man showing off the butt flap still.  This comes in handy when you need that little extra butt scratch for your humans or if the pajamas are getting you a little to warm, you just open the flap and feel the breeze.

Speaking of staying warm...winter does mean sweater weather.

Here I am sporting one of my favorite winter sweaters. May look familiar I have featured this in the original, branching out post. Not only does it have a glorious pattern on but it has....

a hood.  Most of ones heat is lost thru there head so a hood is a very important feature in Wisconsin.  Hats just do not stay well on us puppies.  Those humans just can not get the ear holes correct nor are the under muzzle straps comfortable by any means.

When the weather turns slightly warmer one can get away with wearing a hooded sweater.

Another option shown above is one with a scarf.  Not only does the scarf ensure that there is proper neck coverage...it also serves as entertainment purposes plus unlike your tail when you chase the tassel it is more likely that you will catch that.

Of course let's not forget to make sure we are prepared for the superbowl.  When you don't have a team jersey or refuse to buy one since your team f'd up and you cannot commit to either team in the superbowl, you can still be stylish in the football sweater.

There you have the basic must have items for any puppie winter wardrobe.  Now onto the possibility of Chuck wear.  My mommie was rocking this sweater the other day...

Oh yes what do you think?  Close but not really.
We will need to launch our very own chuck wear line since clearly finding an item that shines with all my handsomeness in the store is yet to be found.

What do you think?  Any other relevant life information that I could gather for you?   Until we meet again my chuck lovers...

Family Fun and then some...

Did you ever just have one of those I feel like I was really lazy weekends, but then realize you actually did quite a bit.

Friday night found us with some time to kill before picking up the steppie from her meet. So since cooking was the very last thing on my brain, I talked the hubbie into checking out a sports bar one town over for some appetizers.

Those things next to the celery were chicken "wings".  Like the biggest chicken wings I have ever seen in my life.   At first, when we arrived I was little off about the price.  Once the food came it was like holler lookie what I got for my dollar.  Needless to say our "appetizers" also became lunch the next day.

Saturday morning I completely slummed around the house until I figured out I better get off my rear and do some errands.  Then I found some time to get the rest of the kitchen organization done.  Hold tight the big reveal shall be gracing the interwebs soon.

On another note though I deemed it would be the perfect day to rock the "Chuck" sweater.

Oh yeah check out the resemblance there.  They are both so creepy it is awesome.  And I found that glorious sweater on clearance at Jcpenney.

After all that it was time to get cooking for our family night.  Chili for dinner and crockpot white chocolate caramel hot cocoa.  Oh no need to fret the hot cocoa recipe shall  be gracing the blog shortly also.

The evening found ourselves at the Horicon Marsh nighthike.  It is an annual event close to home that has became a little tradition.

This year I even took time out to make a craft.

Now if that isn't the best star you have ever seen.

The trails are lit up with luminaries and half way out on the hike there is also a person who lectures about owls.  The trail total is about a 1 1/2 miles, which with the lack of snow this year was pretty easy.  The weather was even above freezing making for a balmy walk.

And it wouldn't be complete without a bonfire.  They also have two smaller fires to the side where kids (or grown kids) can roast up some marshmallows.

After all that excitement we headed back home for hot chocolate and movies.  Now the movies were extra awesome...we are not talking your standard every day run of the mill movies we are talking.....

Oh yeah classic 80's movies kind of awesome.  We introduced the kiddos to the young Val Kilmer and the two Coreys. The verdict was they liked "Real Genius" and the other was ok.  Later the hubbie pointed out that we watched a "good" movie and guess what there was no nudity.

Sunday led to the normal...cleaning, groceries, family dinner and oh yeah that little thing called football. You know the game where our Packers decided to take a nap and will no longer be going to the superbowl.

All in all a weekend that could have used just one more day...

Mastermind - INTJ

Linked up with Kenzie this month for the 12x30 challenge Love Yourself. One of the suggestions she gave for a post idea was the Myers Briggs personality test.  I have done these before and find them rather intriguing.  It is interesting to see if they are truly spot on or not.  After taking the test, I am a "unicorn" or an INTJ personality.

A rarity or so they say, INTJ's make up only 2% of the population and woman INTJ's only .8%.  Here is the description from Myers Briggs:

INTJ

Have original minds and great drive for implementing their ideas and achieving their goals. Quickly see patterns in external events and develop long-range explanatory perspectives. When committed, organize a job and carry it through. Skeptical and independent, have high standards of competence and performance - for themselves and others.

Introverted (I)    Intuition (N)   Thinking (Y)   Judging (J)

intj

Now let's see what 16 Personalities website has to say...

Strengths:  Quick, Imaginative and Strategic Mind, High Self-Confidence, Independent and Decisive, Hard-working and determined, Open-minded, Jacks-of-all-Trades

Weaknesses: Arrogant, Judgmental Overly analytical, Loathe highly structured environments, Clueless in romance

As I read thru the sections related to my INJT personality, it was scary how spot on it was. In the way that I think and deal with relationships being the lack of emotions and usage of logic instead basically due to the fear of emotions being a weakness. Romance is considered a pre-calculated plan. Finding a compatible partner is difficult, aka someone who would put up with our shit. Truth and morality is key with open and honest communication. I will always do what I think is right even if it comes across as cold.  Difficult to get to know in friendships. I look for an intellectual soul mate. Have tendencies to shield emotions and be straight forward. In my career, I enjoy progress and evolution. Look for strategic type positions that are low profile, but influential roles.

And aside from all that seriousness and to help you understand even further here are a  few little pictures regarding the glory of being an INTJ:

At the end of the day though....
for the win!

Now what are you like?

Have a lovely weekend.

Homemade Spaghetti Sauce - Mmmm Yeah, yeah

Now this one comes to you from some point last fall when the bossman decided he has too many tomatoes and needed to share. The number of tomatoes he was getting from his plants was seriously crazy people.  Every single meal for almost two weeks I think he tomatoes in some form.

With the number he gave me and the realization that there is no way I could eat that many before they went bad, I decided to attempt some homemade spaghetti sauce.  Click here for the recipe inspiration.  Now I say inspiration because I didn't quite follow, ok pay attention to the directions.

First was getting the skins off of the tomatoes.  Put a small cut into them and then boil them gentle for a bit.

Then into the colander they go to get "cool"

Then you just peel the skins right off.  It was surprisingly easy even though they were kind of mushy feeling.

After that make friends with your food processor and blend those things up.  My food processor happens to be just a toddler, so we had to go slowly.

Then you want to put some olive oil in a pan and sauté 4 cloves of garlic.

After you heat the garlic for one to two minutes, then add your wonderful tomato puree, some black pepper (1 tsp), and 3Tbsp basil.  Don't over do that basil.  That would be some strong stuff. Stirring often, bring to a low boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2-3 hours stirring often. For the first half of the simmer time, do so with the pot uncovered, then cover.

Since you may have gotten the idea that I overdid the basil, I happened to offset this by adding some store bought spaghetti sauce to it.  Not only did this offset the basil, but it also gave it a better consistency for me.   A little more creamy which means I could pass it off to the tomato hating hubbie a little easier too.

There you have my little escapade in homemade spaghetti sauce.   Would I do it again...only if I got a whole bunch of tomatoes.  Because let's be honest, that shit comes in a jar and you can get it on sale for like $2.  It was fun to say the least.

Here is the recipe from the website:
Ingredients
3-4 cans of Crushed Tomatoes (either regular or with basil, oregano and garlic) 28 oz. sized cans OR 12-15 fresh tomatoes (peeled, chopped and blended in a food processor)
4 cloves of garlic
A bunch of dried basil (probably 3-5 Tbsp)
A bunch of black pepper ( probably 1 - 2 tsp)
1 TBSP of Sugar (optional)
2 TSBP olive oil
⅓ cup of grated Parmesan or Romano Cheese Minced Green Peppers (optional)

Instructions Heat the olive oil in a 5+ qt. pot over medium heat, and add the chopped or pressed garlic. Heat for one to two minutes, making sure not to burn the garlic, then add all the tomatoes, black pepper, basil and sugar. Stirring often, bring to a low boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2-3 hours stirring often. For the first half of the simmer time, do so with the pot uncovered, then cover. Add the cheese, stir in and simmer for an additional 5 minutes or so. This will make the equivalent to 4-5 jars of sauce, and the cost is probably about half (and it tastes way better).

Little Man don't care

Let's just go over for the 500th time why I need my weekend to be three days and not two.  Because I said so, that is why.  Now if it was Little Man he would just be like I am staying home...why because Little Man don't care.  As we can see this being illustrated in the photo below, when he thought it would be appropriate to...
stand on the coffee table. Why?  Because Little Man don't care.  Mommie was eating a beef stick and he "needed" it.  Little Man don't care.

Now since the rest of the weekend really wasn't focused on Little Man either he really doesn't care, but since someone out there does here is what happened with the rest of it.

Saturday morning watching the littles exploring little nooks and crannies in the new toy they have.

Then I braved the winter weather for a run.  And of course, turns out that once again I overdressed.  Yes, overdressed and it was 10 degrees with a windchill of -15. At some point we shall have a whole different conversation regarding said training run.

The evening was dedicated to a seafood feast.

Sunday was spent doing the normal and also accomplishing one of my organizational goals.  Let's just say my kitchen cabinets be mighty tidy.  More to come on this also...lots of cliff hangers going on this week.

Our evening of course was family dinner day with a new experimental recipe.  Not bad but not stellar on the recipe either.

Two of my favorite humans hanging out on Cornholio. and there you have the weekend that was even if Little Man just don't care.
