It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

The title basically sums up the weekend at my house.  Friday, the package fairy came.  No surprise there.  I am sure you have heard about amazon delivering packages via drones.  I think we should call them fairies instead.  The hubbie also thinks this could possibly be a bad idea with the number of packages I get.  Could imagine our house kind of looking something like this:
beehive photo: beehive beehive.gif
And now back to the packages...thankfully this time I didn't get a WTF text from the hubbie.  Which means the stack wasn't that high.
We have prints for a project or two. Christmas gift. Cute shoes for our concert. And Christmas gifts from my mommie.

A couple things that I can show you.   Shoes: Payless    Socks: American Eagle (no longer online).

Saturday for some reason(sure it was related to the fact I needed to get something for dinner), I decided to do the grocery shopping.  The hubbie and steppie actually joined me in this excursion for the week.  This week though was like no other.  It was a bloody nightmare.  Now I don't normally shop on Saturdays since it is crazy, add in a "open" house at the grocery store and I was about to lay down in the fetal position.  I will be diligently working on getting the Sunday grocery shopping back on track.

The afternoon we got started with the task of putting up the tree. As much as I love having a fake tree, the whole fluffing the branches way overrated.  Thankfully we checked the lights before I went to get my son.  We were short one set.  Prior to really kicking it into gear with the christmas decorating needed to warm ourselves from the inside with some chili.

And I even made some crockpot hot chocolate for us to enjoy while decorating. Of course, I made mine a little more adult friendly.
Even broke out the colorado coffee mug.   Then it was time to decorate. Brace yourself for too many pictures.
It was ever so important to get this on the very top and just so.

Yep, that is a Christmas pig.

Steppie putting up her ornament.  Which was a High School Musical Locker. Almost seemed like she was hiding it to not be embarrassed.

Hard time deciding which would be mine to put up.
Decided on a puppie ornament I painted many, many moons ago.

Our 2013 Ornament.
Follow me on instagram to see a few more of my fave ornaments and their stories.

Sunday was cold and snowy. After searching high and low for the perfect green pillows, I decided to give up and just make my own.  Ran to Joanne Fabrics before the snow hit.  Not much to show from Sunday. Ran an errand and then made lasagna for our Sunday family dinner night. We found out later in the evening that there were pileups in the state from the storm.   Craziness.   Of course I did take some time out to dress up the chiweenie in the morning.  So we will leave with our special little freak...Charlie
Better be careful before the grinch tries to steal him to pull his sleigh.

Bullet: Charlie why are you jingling. Hope mom doesn't put that on me.
Charlie: Stop sniffing me or I will have mom put it on you...grrr.

Sunday Social

It's Sunday.  Let's get social.  This is a little off for me.  Generally I do not write a post on a Sunday.  Found this fun link up from Ashley Lately, so why not.

1. What is the wallpaper on your cell phone?
Pikes Peak, Colorado

2. What do you keep beside your bed?
I have a nightstand with an awesome old school looking clock, magazines, linen spray, and...my husband and my class rings from way to many years ago :)

3. What is your least favorite chore?
Scrubbing the bathtub.  Horrible, icky, not fun.

4. If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine, what would it be?
Doing my hair, not good at it. Hate blow drying it.  Seems to take forever.

5. What do you do to vent anger?
I usually call my mom. She has known me long enough (ha ha obviously) to just listen.

6. What is your favorite holiday of the year and why?
Honestly don't have one. I love spending time with my family no matter what day it is.

Happy Sunday

Freezin' Friday

With our current temperatures here, it just seems approriate to title the post freezin' Friday. Not that I am complaining since there is another lovely blogger who resides in Colorado and posted a temperature in the negatives.  Which just made Colorado suddenly less appealing to me.  Darn you weather.

Now on Monday this week the little bro's gf (we really need to find a great nickname, this is old) came over to help the hubbie clip Charlie's nails.   Our little chiweenie was so due.  The little bro's gf is a vet tech at the animal hospital that we take our puppies too. We kind of took advantage of this, sorry. She found it kind of funny that we were not kidding about the fact that Charlie needs to be muzzled at the vet and it is noted in his records.  Needless to say, she brought the muzzle.  Onto the nail clipping experience.  There was no way that I was going to help with this whole nail clipping thing. Fainter over here.  Well at least when a yipe comes from one of my babies and then blood.  Happened once with my lovebird, so this girl will take no chances.  Anyways, this was all on the hubbie and the little bro's gf (ok for the rest of this post it is just gf) to get this done.    As much as I would like to give you a play by play of how this went down, I clearly was not paying any attention.  What I know is the hubbie held him while she clipped. When he walked into the kitchen, his comment was he peed and pooped on me.  Yep, you heard that right pooped on.  That literally scared the shit out of him.  Also gave us a whole new reason on why we call him our little shit monkey.

Goodness the rest of the week was kind of a snoozer.  With the holidays coming up that is possibly a  glorious thing. Speaking of holiday, if you are ordering online better get a move on.  One of my packages that I ordered this week won't be here until later next week.   And of course with the holidays comes the sales.  What I learned this week was the cost of sleeves.

There you have it the cost of two sleeves is equal to $5.00 whole dollars.   That almost seems like a bargin to me.

Yesterday evening, a quick trip to the little bro's to drop off a package for two of the cutest boys I know and fill them with some chocolate, of course.   It also enabled the little bro to witness the great escape from the crib by the master Cooper.  Yep, the little terd has figured out how to get out all on his own.  Smart little guys they are.

One last thing before I manage to forget, the news has determined that us Wisconsin folks eat "cannibal" sandwiches.  Now when I think cannibal, I think someone is eating their own kind (gross, I know). It is simply lean ground beef with some onion.  And you don't cook the beef. Really it is not that bad, as long as the beef is good.  Basically really wanted to say have no fear, us Wisconsin folks are not cannibals, we do not eat our own kind.   We just like cow that happens to not be cooked nor mooing on a holiday occasion. (sidenote: not all Wisconsin folks like this either)

And now with that we are off for the weekend.   Let's have a little music to get it started.

Long overdue...

This post is way overdue.   Our little summary of the extra long holiday weekend.  Everyone in the house had off but this girl on Friday.  With the amount of vacation I have, should have taken the day, but nope.

Thanksgiving. Since my parents have decided to become snow birds (people from the north that go south in the winter), we decided to start our own little tradition of pizza on Thanksgiving. Yes, no turkey.  And it is wonderful by the way.
Did you know that Papa Murphys has a pan pizza. Ha, I didn't. They did on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Flavor was cheeseburger.  Delicious according to the hubbie.  Then we decided that I should open my birthday presents since on my birthday we would be celebrating Thanksgiving.

Love this sign.  Looked at it. Hubbie didn't even know I looked at it and he picked it out too.

Then these adorable coffee mugs.  Just a few days before I broke my old one.  Love these.

Friday was a work day for me.  Did stop at Target on the way home.   Only due to the fact I had to return something I bought the weekend before.  Still going to try the "stay out of the store until after Christmas methodology".

Saturday the little bro's gf picked up some cupcakes from my fave little cupcake place. Look at this glory.
They even had my all time fave flavor... wedding cake.  Glorious deliciousness.

Sunday it was time to pack up my kitchen and head over to the uncles for our Thanksgiving. Last year he was in a home and we had a hard time talking him into joining us. He has MS.  This year in our stubborn ways, we decided that if he won't come out we will come to him.  Some snapshots of our day.
At one point there was a strange noise in the microwave. When I opened it I discovered this...
WTF and amazing all at the same time

A complete clean break...weird.  So much for my gravy bowl.

And finally to the end the day...the end of Movember picture of the boys.

Time for a shave I think. Except for the stubborn brother who mentioned something about keeping it until January.

Wish there was a little more silliness to report..instead though just some good food and family.

This or That Tuesday

This or That Link Up

Time for a link up, let's play this or that.

Wrap around deck or screened in porch
This one is so difficult.  Especially since we have kind of had this discussion at our house.  We live in Wisconsin so with our state bird....
the mosquito, a screened porch would be nice.  I am going to go with the final answer though of both. A wrap around deck with a screened in section for us to seek relief.

Big luxurious bathtub or Walk in Closet

This is so easy.  Walk in Closet.  I have a clothes problem.  If someone could make it so the lights come on and music plays like I am in a store that would be even better.

Kitchen with an Island or Kitchen with a Breakfast Bar

Kitchen with a breakfast bar.  To me it seems like a breakfast bar is so inviting.  Gives people a place to linger while in the kitchen.

Big Front Yard, or Big Back Yard

Big back yard all the way.  We have one now.  Seriously, I really don't need anyone seeing any craziness that maybe occuring in our little sack.  Mind out of the gutter people.  We like to have fun, so drunk slip n sliding may or may not happen. And we like to BBQ in thesummer.

Bountiful garden or nearby grocery store

Sad to say grocery store.  With my schedule, there is just no time to keep up with a garden.

There you have it lovelies a little bit of this and a little bit of that for Tuesday.
