Remember me

Hello, hello.  Remember me. Let the silence be broken.  May there be a moment in my week to give my blog a little bit of love.  So sorry my blogland peeps, this week has seriously been kicking my little behind.

Now that would be the perfect lead into one app I found this week...the Bullshit button.
Oh this will be utilized every chance I get.

And my phone also tried to inform this morning that I needed to stay home and take care of business when somehow I unlocked my phone and it was on this screen...
A Jalepeno Margarita...now if it would not have 4:47 in the AM maybe.

And 11 days into the month of the Wallet Watch I pretty sure I am doing a shitastic job.  Bought an unplanned scarf online, come on you know it was adorable.  And totally blasted the grocery budget by going out to eat.  Then there was the little bar excurions.  But you know when the badgers make it into the final four, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.

I can say though I am doing an amazeballs job on the #1800daychallenge.  Plus we still have the giveaway going on over here in the blog.  4 days to get your chance to get in on that goodness.  Info below.

Let's give some love to some other bloggers whose posts I just loved this week:

Sometimes You Just Need your Mom (Wifessionals) - Makes me all warm and fuzzy.

Like Such As by Venus Trapped in Mars - This post was absolutely hilarious.

Beach Bag Essentials by She Crab Soup - Not only was there a great idea in this post, the carbiner for the keys, yeah hello why did I not think of it before.   It also led to an old post of hers on the usage of baby powder at the beach.  Genius.  Beach Sand Removal Secret

You know that moment when you get to share something with someone just because and it makes them happy..I love that. And I that happened to me today...yay.  Now let's move along with the weekend.

Hi HO HI HO..

Crystal will be offering one of my lovelies a stamped tea spoon and a customized pick.

Welcome Home Weekend

Oh my glorious weekend, how I miss you so.  Someone needs to write a letter or something and get it changed to 3 days.  Two for fun and one for rest.

Saturday morning, I found myself watching to little goobers.  We watched the ducks out the window.  Talk about crazy.  I never realized until that morning that some of those can stay under water for a very long period of time.  Plus swim underwater almost half way across the river.  Of course, I had breakfast with the early riser.  Applejacks.  Like one of my fave cereals, ever.

And now does the next picture look familiar.  My parents with my Arizona hotel arrived back home.  Quite honestly not sure why.  Well they said they missed us, but come on people it is still bloody cold here.  You may have had to pull my arm (yeah not so much), but I would have gladly went to visit them.
And I had my first official Leroy meat brat fry of the year!!!

Now Saturday evening there was no way we could let mom cook on her first night back.  So it was family roadtrip to Benvenuto.

We had way more food then we knew what to do with.  Plus we experienced "italian" nachos.  I foresee these making it to my menu sometime in the future.

And now Saturday later in the evening...was the final four.  GO BADGERS.  And I loved that my son's Sports Illustrated had the badgers gracing the cover.

Glimpses of our evening shenigans.  First off, how many bars do you go to where someone parks their tractor out front?

Now the extra bonus to the bar was that they serve my favorite cocktail.  Hello smirnoff cranberry and lime. Holler, glorious.  Plus we ran into one of the spelling bee champs.

Here you have the hubbie and I in a moment of celebration before the Badgers got beat by 1 stinken point.  Yes, 1, numero uno, one, point.  Boo.  Oh well, On WISCONSIN!

Now Sunday was just a chill day hanging out in the sack.  And we bought this grill....both charcoal and gas.  The hubbie is in love.  Well that was after the task of putting the thing together for like 3 hours.

And to my happiness and dismay.  Yes dismay, since I feel like I gained 5lbs from this event.   The Ice Cream Station is open for the year again.  This would be ooey goey...and it is a dark chocolate ice cream with brownie bites.  It might have been heaven.

And that would be the weekend that was....

Picture Practice - Animals

Happy Monday and it's time for picture practice with Kelli over at She Crab Soup.  Sit back and enjoy.

Wish I had more to say than that today...just sittin' here feeling a little overwhelmed at life right now.  Stop back tomorrow for the weekend that was.

March - Monthly Faves

Only a few days off getting this post up.  Days have been kind hectic around my little section of the cyberworld.  Like numero 1 announcing the awesome giveaway that we have going on here, starting my wallet watch and the 1800 minute challenge.  Let's though for a moment reflect back on my March favorites (now being a little more catergorized)...

Moment:   Forest getting his license tops the list for the moment of the month.

Music:  Seems like my jam of the month was - #Selfie by the Chainsmokers.  And I love the fact that the Hoff is sprinkled about in there...awesome.

Beauty Stuff:  Here is where the list gets a little out of hand.  Promise (hope) next month maybe shorter:

1. Dove Go Fresh Deodrant in Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena- Who would have known that a deodrant would make the list.  It just smells glorious, of course anything smells better then armpits.
2. Lush Dirty Spring Wash - Leaves my skin clean and happy.  Plus smells absolutely glorious. You know to the point of when you can't shower you just pop the top of the bottle and inhale the glory.
3. Buxom Lip Gloss in Claire - This was a replacement for one of my mac lipglosses since I absolutely adore the buxom line of lip products. All I have to say is: Dear Claire you make my lips tingle. Muah.
4. Bliss Body Butter Lemon and Sage - Creamy, hydrating, not sticky and smells absolutely glorious.  Perfect for making your winter skin calm.
5. Lush Fresh Face Masks - Since they are only available in stores you will need to visit to find out which is best for you.  We had cosmetic warrior and BB seaweed.  Can not wait until we  get down there for some more.
6. Too Faced Natural Eyes Pallette - This came home with me mid-March from Ulta.  The moment it caught my eye in the store I couldn't walk away from it.  Now I am wearing the colors in the pallette so often I have to make an effort to go to use another one of my eye pallettes.  Colors, consistency are fantastic.

Clothes:  Remember when I got that Stitch Fix.  And fell head over heels with a scarf.   Yes, that is my fave this month.  Doing a pretty good job finding different ways to wear it.  Now to just not wear it, like every single or other day.  After all it has been worn to work, Madison road trip, and the spelling bee.  I love it so.

Reading - Nothing right now just trying to stay caught up on the magazines that seem to arrive at my doorstep.

Watching - Shameless.   We got our satelite back based on the point that we needed to watch Shamelss.  This show will seriously make you feel like you are absolutely perfectly normal and then some.  Check it out, Showtime.

Food/Drink -  Let's see.  I am going with spicey foods for the month.  Appears I was eating quite a few mexican dishes, I love me some chorizo, and chili's this month.

Purchase - Even though I did purchase a computer this month I am not quite ready to put this in the whole awesomeness category yet.  That whole deciding if Wndows 8 and me are getting along.

Looking Forward too in next month:  My mommie and daddie should be arriving back to the Wisconsin Winter Wonderland.  Yes we have conclued they are crazy for leaving the warmth to come to the cold. Anyways watch for a version of this except Wisconsin style aka mommie and daddie bundle up because they are freezing.

S-P-E-L-L-ING Bee

Imma be, Imma be - Imma imma Imma be.
Singing along with me now?  No idea why the whole spelling bee concept makes me want to break out in a Black Eyed Peas song. While that continues to run thru your head, let's have a look at a Spelling Bee.

Again let's here yet another shout out for the Horicon Phoenix group for bringing another interesting activity to out glorious city.   This time around it was a Spelling Bee. Oh and let me add in here, that it was being held a local bar.  Spelling and cocktails, now you know that led to an interesting evening.

Here is some of the information from Horicon Phoenix programs website:
A spelling bee fundraiser for people who (maybe) can’t spell. So what if you misspell “Conscientious?!”  Gather a team of friends — after all, ONE of your friends must be able to spell, right? Teams should be between three and five people.

Want to buy a do-over for your lame spelling attempt? Starts at $2 (whew!)
Official Spell Yeah themed drinks starting at $6
Proceeds benefit Concerts in the Park.

Add let me highlight a few of my favorite rules and sections of said rules from the game:
  • Your team can purchase up to 4 do-overs if you botch a word. The do-overs cost $2, $5, $10, & $20, respectively. We encourage you to both mess up and to buy do-overs, because we want your money. We reserve the right to allow more do-overs for all teams, if everyone seems both wealthy and egregiously poor at spelling
  • Order plenty of Spell Yeah drinks, which will be available in alcoholic and virgin forms. They cost ever so slightly more than regular drinks, but this is GOOD: we get a % of each drink, and the more you imbibe the alcoholic kind, the likelier you are to need to buy do-overs for your spelling atrocities. Obviously stay safe with the drinking & appoint a designated driver.
  • We’re using Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, eleventh edition. We may mispronounce words. You can ask if it’s mispronounced, and we’ll do our best to correct it, but we promise you nothing. We reserve the right to be stupid.
  • We may give definitions, if you ask. No root words or “derived from Latin” any of that other nonsense. Unless we feel like it. The pronouncer reserves the right to add information at will. And we may give bad and/or misleading definitions. It’s all part of the fun!
  • Judges will eliminate anyone who takes too long, is obnoxious, is unintelligible, or wears ugly shoes. (We’re joking about the shoes. Sort of). Teams will have to soldier on without eliminated members.

Rumor had it that there were only four teams signed up.  By the start of the event they had 12 teams (I think) total.   The room was packed .Right off in round 1 the words were challenging plus the negotiations from some of the contestants were pretty fierce.  I would love to give everyone a step by step of the activities and hilarities of the night, but there were just way to many to count. Adding into the awesomeness is that it was a fundraiser. Way to go everybody for showing up!!

And remember how in one of the rules it mentioned special drinks, well here they are listed below.  The Hubbie has even found his new summer boating cocktail from the list.

Speaking of drinks, one of my favorite moments was when one of the spellers approached the bar for a cocktail and we asked how she was doing.  To sum it up she basically said, "haven't gotten a word right yet so instead I am just going to get wasted.  I got a driver."  Right on, way to keep the positive attitude!   And of course there always has to be winners....here they are with the bar owner:

Trophies and shots in hand.  Congrats.
