Firecrackin' Fourth

With the little title here you would think that there would be tons of fire crackers mentioned in this post.  For it being the Fourth of July there was no fireworks, yet.   Key word, yet.  In a moment of wisdom I thought it woud be a good idea to work July 5th.  So while other people where lighting things up, this girl was catching her zzz's.  Sorry to disappoint.  We did get our celebration on though with some fantastic family time.

Back to the water...hubbie and steppie.  Way out there.  This chicken was not gong in that far.  Don't judge the water was cold.

And a fantastic finish to the day...bike ride to the wonderful Ice Cream Station with the steppie.

Craptastical

Well now this post is late...been sitting in the drafts.  Sometimes you just need to step back and .       Since things are all aired out now, here we go.

Craptastical.   Pretty much sums up a  few days and just my overall feeling in general.  Bad news out of the hubbies work.  Followed with a filling coming loose (completely my fault, teeth are not tools, do not use them to pry open a water bottle top, Whoops). Then just the standard little irrelevant things that would be overlooked on a normal day except when added on the top of a few major things.  Feeling like the direction things were going is eerily like the past.  Grab all that mold it into one ball and it basically wore me down to the craptastical day(s).

Now when things go south, you have no other option but too... 

Master plan was put in place so we may persevere thru the bad news from the hubbie's work. A portion of this plan may end up a blog entry in itself.  Will definetly be a test in our household. Yes let the suspense kill you.  Tooth fix, dentist called.  Easy.   Big things out of the way.

 

Sunshine to my day.

When one is having a craptastical day even the littlest thing seems like such a chore.  I have been on a quest for some curtians.  Target limited stock.  Have to go.  Suck it up buttercup and off I go.  There also was a half off deal at Starbucks for these refersh things I wanted to try.  Starbucks in Target. Both had to make it a little better. Sucking it up. Big girl panties on. In my lateness getting off of work, got to Starbucks just after it ended.  Bummed. Still staying with the plan and getting one anyways. Then the wonderful lady said even though it was after five she would give me the half off. (I didn't even ask) Thank you...this little act meant the world at that moment. 

Even managed to get the last curtain panel I needed for our future living room redo.  This was an exciting moment.   For a moment I thought I was going to have to try and figure out what or how to hang just one panel on the window.

Due to Smirnoff taking away my favorite Cranberry-Lime summer beverage of choice.  Yes, everything that I love seems to get discontinued. Seriously. Now from various sources, heard about the Straw-ber-rita budweiser margarita thing. Put that on my try list.  Hubbie happened to find a "single" serving size aka a very large single can versus a 12 pack to try.  So bam got try that upon my arrival coming home.  And my hubbie was there...the one I fell in love with. 

 

Watery Weekend

I love my kids, I love my kids, I love my kids...but YES, they were gone. Both of them at the same time to the other parent's house for a Friday evening.  Been awhile since this happened.  Opportunity knocked for a surprise at home date/adult time.  Plan: Starbucks Refreshers, movie and my popcorn. Of course the intent was to surprise the hubbie with the whole plan.  Couldn't keep the Starbucks Refresher quiet though.  He knew by the time I got to Starbucks. Those Referesher things are amazing.  They were doing a half off deal between 3 and 5. Just couldn't pass up that excuse to try something new. Ok, back on track here. My famous popcorn. Hubbie loves.  This really maybe one of the reasons why he married me and stays married to me. Anywho, we ate two whole bowls during the movie.  Sorry no pictures. Movie was: "Warm Bodies". Ha, told the hubbie it was a romantic <pause> comedy. Really not the whole mushy love story kind of girl over her. Sad to report the movie was pretty bad.  What we learn about zombies in this movie is that they really just need a hug.

Love brings them back to life..what?!?  IF the zombie apocalypse happens though, this girl is not going to be trying it out.  I will be praying that my endurance pays off and run the other way, quickly.

Rain, Rain go away. The next day/morning our original date just didn't work out. Raining equals not a good day for kayaking in my books. No paddle the marsh event for us. According to the event organizers facebook feed approximately 130 brave souls faced the weather.  We little chickens opted to reschedule something until Sunday.

Now aside from us just trying to get some adult time in, Friday and Saturday brought a few other notable items.   My shutterfly album of our "honeymoon" in Colorado.

My teenager and his temps.  WHAT?!?! Hold tight people I am sure that there will be some drop dead exciting stories coming out of me placing my life in the hands of my teeanger.

 

 

Then Finally, sunshine on Sunday.  Hubbie and I opted to kayak down the river to the little brothers house. It would be his first time in my old Kayak (and second time kayaking).  I would be testing out my new kayak.  Enjoy the snippets from our adventure.

 

Oh yeah he has now nicknamed the kayak the green pickle.

Beautiful day, awesome weekend.  And now it is off to work we go.

 

June's Favorite Things

These are a few of my favorite things from June.

1. Pillows - Target has some amazing pillows.  After that little excursion had to stop or I would completely lose my chair.

 

2.  Peanut Butter paired with cake - Amazing peanut butter cupcake at the Jersey Street Music Fest and an awesome Peanut Butter cake for the hubbie's birthday.  Oh nuts that stuff was so crazy good.

 

3. The nephews - Two of the most ubberly cute, super awesome boys on the planet.  I am so grateful they came into my world.  Thanks little bro.

4. Finding a fun reason to celebrate which led to having a picnic with my family.  And with it brought the joys of remembering the hubbie and my "first" date.

5.  Running with my son.  Grateful a few years ago I encouraged him to come run with me.  Now we have something that we can always share.  Even if I maybe slower.

 

6.  Turtles - look for some of my past posts on my declaration of my love for turtles.

 

There were some amazing days in June.  Hard to believe the first month of summer is just about behind us.
